A rare performance by Mraya (Maryem Tollar, Roula Said, Jayne Brown & Sophia Grigoriadis) on Media Democracy Day. We will be doing a half hour set as part of a fundraiser for rabble.ca. There will also be performances by LAL and KoboTown; as well as a panel discussion by Maude Barlow, Linda McQuaig, Duncan Cameron and Jessica Yee. PWYC - $10 to $25 - ticket price includes refreshments, stimulating ideas, and other surprises - as well as supporting independent media.

The Om Laila Troupe will be performing as part of the Floozy Cabaret, in support of Floozy:The Musical premiering at this year's Fringe Festival. There will be many musical, theatrical and other bizarre performance spectacles to behold, as well as drinks.

Whirling @ The Day of Delight

Roula Said, joined by 6 others (including Meaghan Shields and Jayne Walling of Om Laila Bellydance) will present a Dervish-style whirling spectacle as part of the 6th annual Day of Delight, organized by Clay & Paper Theatre at Dufferin Grove Park.   The audience will have the unique experience of walking a labyrinth that wends its way around the whirlers.

The Day of Delight brings together collaborators of all artistic disciplines to contribute works on themes of Love, Courtship and Desire, within the context and tradition of outdoor performance in public space. This includes theatre, music, dance, spectacle, poetry, installation and puppetry.
