Cairo to Toronto is a metaphorial and lyrical journey that traces one woman's passage from displacement to integration in her adopted land. Maryem Tollar (vocals, qanun) weaves a narrative which follows this woman's experiences of alienation, fear and longing and sees her locate her dreams and desires. Her journey culminates in finding like-minded others who each contribute to create a dream of a possible future where differences mingle and produce rich collaborations.
*Features dance performances by Roula Said and the Om Laila Troupe!
